Message from our Headteacher

Dear Parents, Carers and Families

Welcome to Stradbroke Primary School's website. We hope that you find it easy to navigate around and can find all of the information you need as well as examples of fantastic learning. Here at Stradbroke, we are proud of the fabulous learning which takes place and we endeavour to give our children the most unforgettable and inspiring curriculum possible, constantly striving to ensure that all of our children enjoy themselves on a daily basis whilst fulfilling their potential to become lifelong learners. You can read our latest Ofsted report from November 2016 here.

Once again this year the teachers have many memorable opportunities planned for our children as we continue our aim to make learning hands-on, engaging and inspirational. As identified by Ofsted, our curriculum is 'broad and exciting' as all year groups get to experience fascinating visits to places such as the National Space Centre, Murton Park, Yorkshire Wildlife Park and even Pizza Express, to name but a few already in the diary for this year and many more. We also take both our Y2 and Y6 children away on unforgettable residential visits to build character and forge everlasting bonds. We believe that this culminates with lasting memories and high-quality learning as well as excellent outcomes for all of our children.

Everyone at Stradbroke works collaboratively to ensure that all our children are happy, safe and aspire to be the best that they can and we thank all of our parents and guardians for your support in helping us to achieve this.

Check through our Twitter feed on the left of this page to celebrate some of the outstanding learning which takes place here at Stradbroke.

We would welcome any positive feedback or suggestions to help develop our website further.

Thank You and Best Wishes

John Sitch - Headteacher

Increase of School Provision from 15TH JUNE 2020

Dear All,

Sheffield's Public Health Director, Greg Fell, has approved schools across the city to now begin a phased reopening from Monday 15th June, to the year groups nominated by the government last month.

Therefore, we will be beginning our reintroduction of children in Y6 from Monday 15th June, as previously arranged, as well as more children from our Integrated Resource Unit. This will now be followed by Y1 returning to school from Wednesday 17th June and then Reception children, provisionally, from Wednesday 24th June.

My letter, issued 12th June, provides more information and is available to download:

Critical worker's children and those children considered vulnerable will continue to attend school as they have throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.

Y6, Y1 and Reception Parents: there will be some vital non-negotiable changes as a result of the Covid-19 safety measures for schools, which must be followed. Please see the following:

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best Wishes

Mr Sitch

Coming soon: Online payments to school with ParentPay!

Starting in June 2020, we will be introducing a more convenient way to pay for school meals, and other school items online, using a secure service called ParentPay, which will make the school cashless.

Please read the launch letter and watch the video for more information. You should receive an activation letter from school in the post this week, so please look out for it.

Potential Increase of School Provision

I am sure you will all be aware of the recent government discussions taking place in England to start welcoming more children back to schools, if possible, from June, with specific year groups being prioritised for a return.

Please see our letter regarding the Potential Increase of School Provision at Stradbroke.

See also our Returning to School - Frequently Asked Questions which will be updated as we go through the next phase of the virus.

Update: Please see our Return Guidelines for Year 6 Parents.

Thank you for your ongoing support and patience during this time.

A Guide to Social Distancing

A Message from Greg Fell: Director of Public Health for Sheffield

It is crucial as parents/carers you ensure the safety and protection of your children against the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Where possible all children and young people should be safe and at home.

It is important your children know how to socially distance themselves from other children/young people so we can protect them and the most vulnerable in society.
