Message from our Headteacher

Dear Parents, Carers and Families

Welcome to Stradbroke Primary School's website. We hope that you find it easy to navigate around and can find all of the information you need as well as examples of fantastic learning. Here at Stradbroke, we are proud of the fabulous learning which takes place and we endeavour to give our children the most unforgettable and inspiring curriculum possible, constantly striving to ensure that all of our children enjoy themselves on a daily basis whilst fulfilling their potential to become lifelong learners. You can read our latest Ofsted report from November 2016 here.

Once again this year the teachers have many memorable opportunities planned for our children as we continue our aim to make learning hands-on, engaging and inspirational. As identified by Ofsted, our curriculum is 'broad and exciting' as all year groups get to experience fascinating visits to places such as the National Space Centre, Murton Park, Yorkshire Wildlife Park and even Pizza Express, to name but a few already in the diary for this year and many more. We also take both our Y2 and Y6 children away on unforgettable residential visits to build character and forge everlasting bonds. We believe that this culminates with lasting memories and high-quality learning as well as excellent outcomes for all of our children.

Everyone at Stradbroke works collaboratively to ensure that all our children are happy, safe and aspire to be the best that they can and we thank all of our parents and guardians for your support in helping us to achieve this.

Check through our Twitter feed on the left of this page to celebrate some of the outstanding learning which takes place here at Stradbroke.

We would welcome any positive feedback or suggestions to help develop our website further.

Thank You and Best Wishes

John Sitch - Headteacher

Schools Returning to Full Attendance - March 8th

We are pleased to inform you that national guidance has confirmed that ALL children can return to school from Monday 8th March. From this date, school attendance will once again become mandatory for all children.

I am sure that this news will be received positively by many of you, as it has been by our teachers, who are looking forward to welcoming all of the children back to school, however, for some this may understandably increase your levels of anxiety.

Therefore, I have updated our frequently asked questions, in order to try and address any concerns or queries people may have at this moment in time, before children return.

World Book Day - 4th March 2021 & 12th March 2021

World Book Day is on Thursday 4th March 2021. In order to celebrate this event, staff will be performing a range of short stories which will be available to watch on Class Dojo under the 'Class Stories' section.

If your child would like to share their favourite book, please feel free to submit a photo or video of them reading on Class Dojo or Twitter @StradbrokePri. Adults - feel free to join in the fun and share your favourite children's book too!

Please follow this link for more video books to enjoy together:

When all children return to school, we will be celebrating World Book Day in school on Friday 12th March 2021. On this day, children are invited to dress up as one of the characters from their favourite book. No financial contribution is necessary. We will also be participating in a range of activities within school to encourage reading for pleasure.

See our letter, World Book Day 2021, for further details.

Remote Learning Expectations

Following the announcement last night to move education to remote learning until February half-term, we have put together guidance on what to expect from school and what we expect from the children who are accessing their learning remotely.

The following documents are available to download:

We recognise and appreciate that for some children, completing remote learning will be challenging. If this is the case, please contact school and we will try our utmost to help support you.

If your child is struggling to access their learning, please do not hesitate to contact school or speak to their class teacher via e-mail.
