Message from our Headteacher

Dear Parents, Carers and Families

Welcome to Stradbroke Primary School's website. We hope that you find it easy to navigate around and can find all of the information you need as well as examples of fantastic learning. Here at Stradbroke, we are proud of the fabulous learning which takes place and we endeavour to give our children the most unforgettable and inspiring curriculum possible, constantly striving to ensure that all of our children enjoy themselves on a daily basis whilst fulfilling their potential to become lifelong learners. You can read our latest Ofsted report from November 2016 here.

Once again this year the teachers have many memorable opportunities planned for our children as we continue our aim to make learning hands-on, engaging and inspirational. As identified by Ofsted, our curriculum is 'broad and exciting' as all year groups get to experience fascinating visits to places such as the National Space Centre, Murton Park, Yorkshire Wildlife Park and even Pizza Express, to name but a few already in the diary for this year and many more. We also take both our Y2 and Y6 children away on unforgettable residential visits to build character and forge everlasting bonds. We believe that this culminates with lasting memories and high-quality learning as well as excellent outcomes for all of our children.

Everyone at Stradbroke works collaboratively to ensure that all our children are happy, safe and aspire to be the best that they can and we thank all of our parents and guardians for your support in helping us to achieve this.

Check through our Twitter feed on the left of this page to celebrate some of the outstanding learning which takes place here at Stradbroke.

We would welcome any positive feedback or suggestions to help develop our website further.

Thank You and Best Wishes

John Sitch - Headteacher

What's happening at Stradbroke?

The Daily Mile

This year, the whole school has started to undertake the Daily Mile initiative. The Daily Mile is a social physical activity, with children running or jogging - at their own pace - in the fresh air with friends.

Children can occasionally walk to catch their breath, if necessary, but should aim to run or jog for the full allotted time. Initially in our school this will be for 5 minutes, with the aim to increase this up to 10 and eventually 15 minutes when the children have built up their stamina.

The aim of the Daily Mile is to improve physical, social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing for all of our children. The Daily Mile makes children fitter, healthier, happier and has a positive impact on their behaviour and concentration levels when back in class. It is simple and effective, enabling every child, including those with special needs, to be active every day.

For further information, or to find out more about the benefits, please visit The Daily Mile.

Attendance Matters

As parents, like us you will be working hard to ensure your child gets the best from their school life. We want all of our children to achieve their full potential, 100% of the time.

We are focusing on raising attendance to help our children to reach their goals in life. We expect every child to attend at least 96% of the time (although 100% would be ideal).

If you're not sure, send them into school and we can see how they go, we will always contact you if we need to.

We publish our class attendances every week on our Attendance page. Who is this week's winner?

Ofsted Inspection

As you may be aware, our school was last inspected by Ofsted over a two day period in November 2016.

The Ofsted Inspection Report is available for you to read.

Please do take the time to read the report, as we are very pleased with the findings the inspection team made and the outcomes reflect the hard work and effort of all of the children and the staff here at Stradbroke.
